Boeschen Vineyards – Napa – Making Wine

Boeschen Vineyards is an estate vineyard and winery on the east side of the Napa Valley floor in St Helena.   I happened to meet Shawn a co-owner and a great guy at Cheers St Helena.  He invited me up to the winery and I finally had the chance to visit right at the end of Harvest when all the wine making is going into full swing.

Doug, their wine maker, was kind enough to let us poke round while they were doing pump-overs and we got to ask him some fun questions and give you a first hand look at what a pump over is…and more so what a top notch Napa Valley winery looks like.  This is one of those wineries that you will hear about – it is built into a cave in the side of a mountain and their wines, albeit are not cult,  but are not exactly on the map.  I also note that Boeschen is appointment only.  Doug has quite a pedigree in wine making which I got to learn more about off the camera.

And I’d also like to make a special note that this is not your average VineyardVlog Video.  Seth Johnson, a seasoned Sommelier and Wine Educator in Napa valley, edited this video and we all hope he’ll be doing more – cause it came our awesome.

We hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about the wine making process leave a comment or better yet go visit the winery and try the wines and learn more first-hand.  🙂
