Off-Road Vineyard Tour!
Yes – this is Napa Valley, and in the 1960’s Willies Jeep we have the 2 stars of the Food + Wine’s article – Affordable & Hidden Napa Valley. Trent Ghiringhelli & Drew Dickson are the people who are “Taking Back The Valley” and breaking down the preconceptions of a vineyard tour and what a proper tasting room is. Trent holds his tasting at a picnic table that is a Jeep’s ride away on the Heibel Ranch. Trent even pairs his wine (his 2006 Lappa’s is his first official release) with Salami & fresh bread from Bouchon bakery. This is a great tour into the Howell Mountain AVA from a vantage point never seen before. Trent is full of wine factoids and is a seasoned wine educator, wine maker, hospitality director, and off-road tour guide. You will witness the hillside up close and personal, meanwhile learning all sorts of fun facts about the AVA, Viticulture, and whatever strikes your fancy.
If you are looking to experience something a little different in wine country, then look no further Heibel Ranch Vineyards is a great starting point. You will need to book a few days in advance and Trent does his tours & tastings in the beginning or end of the day, preferably.
